Tax-Aid’s more than 1,000 volunteers come from a variety of professional backgrounds. Tax expertise is always critically needed, but there are also jobs that do not require any technical knowledge.
Volunteers must attend training. The course(s) required depend on the volunteer’s level of experience. Please review the training descriptions here:

Tax-Aid volunteers donate eight hours or more of their time during tax season (Jan-April). Enjoying their work and experience is critical to their success. In a 2010 volunteer survey, 76% of respondents rated their volunteer experience with Tax-Aid as “excellent” or “above average”. Many of the volunteers come back each year because of the gratitude of the families they have served and the camaraderie of working with their fellow volunteers.
